Closing the loop

The last two lake stops on our five (four) lake hike were the Grünsee and Mosjesee. Though it is a bit of a stretch to call them ‘stops’, the afternoon was wearing on and we had to keep the pace up in order to make it back to Zermatt before nightfall. So the tripod stayed hanging from my rucksack and I barely stopped to catch my breath before taking these photos and getting back underway. The lake pictured below is the Mosjesee with its beautiful turquoise water. It is a very picturesque location, though the buildings on the far shore and dam gave it a very man-made atmosphere. Again, in this series of images it is the Matterhorn and the larch trees that play the starring roles. Increasing the colour temperature led to a more romantic feeling, though perhaps I went a little far with it. Oh well, it’s always good to test the boundaries. 😉
So, to sum up, we can definitely recommend the five lake hike in Zermatt. It’s a lovely round trip with breathtaking views, especially in the Autumn, when the trees are at their most beautiful.

Die letzten zwei Haltestellen auf unserer Fünf (Vier) Seen Wanderung waren der Grünsee und Mosjesee. Obwohl, man konnte sie kaum einen Halt nennen. Der Nachmittag ist langsam ausgeklungen und wir mussten das Tempo beibehalten, um vor Sonnenuntergang in Zermatt anzukommen. So blieb das Stativ am Rücksack hängen und ich hatte kaum Zeit meinen Atem zu beruhigen, bevor ich die Bilder gemacht habe und dann genau so schnell waren wir wieder auf dem Weg. Der See, der unten abgebildet ist, ist der Mosjesee. Dieser See hat wunderschönes türkisblaues Wasser, hat aber ein künstliches Gefühl wegen den Gebäuden und des Staudamms am anderen Ende des Sees. Nichtsdestotrotz hat man dort einen herrlichen Blick auf das Matterhorn und der Lerchenwälder. Es sind genau diese zwei Protagonisten, die Hauptrollen in meinen Bilder spielen. Um den Bildern eine romantischere Stimmung zu verleihen, habe ich die Farbtemperatur etwas erhöht. Vielleicht habe ich es ein bisschen übertrieben, aber ist es nicht immer gut die Grenzen zu testen? 😉
Also, alles in allem können wir nur die Fünf See Wanderung in Zermatt empfehlen. Sie ist ein schöner, nicht all zu langer, Rundgang mit atemberaubenden Aussichten, vor allem im Herbst, wenn die Bäume ihre schönsten Kleider tragen.
